New child passenger safety seat guidance advises kids to ride rear-facing as long as possible; drops age criterion

According to the revised guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released last Thursday (August 30), parents are advised to keep their child’s car seat in the rear-facing position as long as possible. The previous guidelines recommended rear-facing car seats until the age of two.
